3-Minute Egg is an online video program spotlighting performing, visual and literary artists in the Twin Cities. The program primarily focuses on artists producing and exhibiting new, original work.
When 3-Minute Egg premiered, in August 2008, it was the nation’s first online daily video program focused on a community arts scene. Founding producer Matt Peiken hatched more than 330 Egg videos through 2010—many of them can be found on 3-Minute Egg’s YouTube channel. Peiken also single-handedly converted those videos into 26 half-hour episodes that aired statewide over Twin Cities Public Television.
Amid other committments, Peiken shelved 3-Minute Egg in 2010, but relaunched it in 2016 with his return to the Twin Cities. 3-Minute Egg is still the only video outlet in the Twin Cities helping audiences connect to performances and exhibitions happening in the here and now.
Are you a Twin Cities artist proud of new work you’re about to premiere, exhibit or otherwise show off to world? Let me know about it!
